The Atrisco Companies is a family of social enterprises that includes seven nonprofit and community-focused organizations.

We take a new approach to business that uses best practices from the commercial marketplace to drive philanthropy. We refer to this as an “earned revenue” model.
What does that mean? We integrate commercial revenue streams with purpose-driven philanthropy to serve constituents without being dependent on traditional nonprofit funding sources, such as fundraising.

To make this possible, we developed our own SECRET SAUCE with three key ingredients:

We focus our efforts on the commercial marketplace to drive our revenue. This requires a higher standard of service in order to remain competitive in that marketplace—a merit-driven approach.

2.

We operate from a values system that balances philanthropy and business in every decision.

3.

We utilize a shared back-office approach that removes business and administrative functions from program managers, creating operational efficiencies and allowing our program managers to better focus on their philanthropic missions.

This approach, combined with our nonprofit tax status, allows us to generate a sustainable and reliable surplus. We then pass price savings onto our customers and further enhance the quality of services benefiting both the organization and the client.
This model allows us to create a market condition where services are elevated but prices remain low. All of our companies are mission-driven and service-based. All are united in the goal of impacting our community for the better.
